Delivering on aims

6th May 2022

As a trust, we seek to foster a sense of ambition in young people and a confidence to fulfil their potential. To achieve this, we have key benchmarks, one of which is to provide high quality professional development, support and an opportunity to collaborate and learn.

We were very happy last week to do just that with the first of our Learning Partners Lecture Series. It was indeed a privilege to be able to listen to and learn from the guest speaker, Professor Tanya Byron. With her vast experience and relaxed presenting style, Professor Byron succeeded in providing essential advice, knowledge and encouragement throughout the evening.

We would like to thank all who attended, we understand that after a long day in the classroom, when you have given it your all, travelling across or into Guildford to undertake cpd is not a very pleasant prospect and certainly doesn't beat going home and having a well deserved cup of tea. However, reflecting on the feedback that we have received, we are confident that it was a beneficial use of your time and dare we say it - enjoyable!

For us as a central services team, it was fantastic to see so many staff gather from all of the schools to work together on what is currently such an important topic.

We were given permission to record the talks and we shall shortly be making them available to view. The links will be published in next week's bulletin, once our IT team have completed the necessary edits. We filmed both staff and parent sessions. Staff will have access to both recordings.

Another benchmark we use to keep us on the right path to fulfilling our overarching ambition is for our schools to be fully staffed with happy, challenged and content colleagues. We are now deep in thought for the second lecture, which will take place next academic year, with the intention of continuing to smash our aims and to provide high quality, relevant professional development and support.
