Trust welcomes Glebelands School, Cranleigh

1st April 2024

Glebelands school in Cranleigh becomes the fifteenth school to join Learning Partners Academy Trust.  The trust with schools located across Surrey is a cross phase organisation which now has five secondary schools, six all through primaries, two junior schools and two infant schools. As the schools grow in number, they grow in strength. Schools that join the trust are chosen because of their values, pedagogical approach and pastoral outlook which are a common theme running throughout the trust. There is a strong belief within the schools that a collaborative approach to education will provide the greatest opportunity to improve outcomes for all pupils.

Jack Mayhew, CEO of Learning Partners Academy Trust said “Our schools have worked with Glebelands over the last two years and this step towards joining the trust is a natural way forward. We are delighted that our agreement to work with and support each other is now official and I am very confident that our partnership will have a positive impact on the Glebeland school community which will no doubt extend to all the staff and pupils within the trust.”

Russell Mitchell, Headteacher of Glebelands said “We are delighted to join Learning Partners Academy Trust. The trust encourages all of its schools to support each other and work together both in terms of school improvement and operationally. It is particularly beneficial collaborating with other headteachers within the trust and as trust leaders to steer the direction of travel, ensuring that our communities are well served. Staff at Glebelands participate throughout the course of the academic year in professional development networks which have enriched their own personal careers and in turn improved their practice.”

Glebelands is a vibrant, friendly and dynamic school with high expectations and ambitions for every student. Students thrive in their given environment and consistently make excellent progress. They are high achievers which is a result of high-quality, dedicated teaching and hard work from all within the community. This wealth of learning is complemented by a comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities and a caring pastoral system provided by committed staff. Learning Partners Academy Trust wholeheartedly embraces collaborative learning amongst both pupils and staff, believing that working together will make schools better for children and ultimately successfully enabling their vision of leading schools where children thrive
